Do you love your morning routine? There’s been a growing obsession with creating the perfect morning routine to maximise your productivity.
However, I believe that a morning routine should be dedicated to helping you start your day in a peaceful, high vibrational state of mind.
Your morning routine is unique to you.
Although it’s inspiring to learn about other people’s morning routines, following someone else’s routine may not be beneficial for yourself. Therefore, it’s essential to create a morning that caters to your needs, whether it’s to release your limiting beliefs or to have a slow start to your day.
Therefore, I will share why it’s important to create a morning routine and how to create your own morning routine for a peaceful start to your day.
What is a morning routine?
A morning routine is a set of habits that will allow you to start your day in a high vibrational state. These habits can include anything from writing morning pages, drinking a couple of glasses of water, or tidying your bedroom.
Why is a morning routine important?
More and more, I realise the benefits of having a peaceful start to my day. Before I became consistent, I was someone who never believed that a morning routine can set me up to have both a peaceful and successful day.
My past morning routine consisted of me snoozing my alarm, skipping breakfast, and engulfing myself on social media.
However, at the start of 2021, I wanted to challenge myself and test out a new morning routine. This new morning routine helped me to become more peaceful and work throughout the day in a high vibrational state.
Here are a few more benefits of creating a morning routine:
- Lowering your stress levels.
- Improving your discipline.
- Enjoying the best parts of the day (morning and night).
How to create a new morning routine
Do you know that new habits are easier to break than old habits?
It’s important not to overwhelm yourself when creating and sticking to your new morning routine. This is one of the common reasons why people fail with sticking to their new morning routine.
Here is a step-by-step guide on how to create a new morning routine:
- Decide on three new habits to add to your morning routine.
- Write out your current morning routine.
- Incorporate your new habits into your current routine. (Refer to the sentence guide below).
Sentence guide: After I have (old habit) … I will (new habit) …
1. After I have brushed my teeth, I will do my morning skincare routine.
2. After I have written my morning page, I will meditate for 5 minutes.
3. After I have eaten my breakfast, I will review my to-do list for the day.
I have included this exercise in my Free 5 Day Mindset Email Course as a worksheet. This email course is for women who need guidance in challenging their negative mindset. You can learn more about the email course here.

10 Peaceful Morning Routine Habits
1. No Phone
As Mallory from The Purposed Plan says, your morning should ‘be free from outside energy.’ This is because going on social media will expose you to low vibrational feelings, such as anger, worthlessness, and exhaustion. It’s always better to start and end your day in a high vibrational state.
2. Morning Pages
Morning pages involve releasing your negativity by following prompts, such as reflecting on yesterday and writing down your worries. In a previous post, I mentioned that writing morning pages in the morning will allow you to attract positive energies into your life, helping you to manifest and move further towards your dream life.
3. Listen to motivational podcast
Podcasts are my No.1 motivation boosters. This is because podcasts will help you to notice your capabilities and strive towards accomplishing your goals. I have created a list of 10 motivational podcasts for you to listen to today.
4. Follow guided meditation
As both an introvert and highly sensitive person, I have found that I am easily distracted by my thoughts, whether they are positive or negative.
I have found meditation to be helpful for me in the mornings. This is because meditation allows me to calm my anxious thoughts and focus on being in the present moment. I would highly recommend listening to Lavendaire’s calming meditations here.
Gratitude is something that I have incorporated into my meditation. It involves showing appreciation for the things and people around you, whether it’s having a supportive best friend or accomplishing your to-do-list. Therefore, performing gratitude in the morning will allow starting your day in a positive mindset.
6. Reflect on the week
Reflecting on your week will allow you to notice any changes you need to make for the last few days of the week ahead. For example, at the beginning of the week, you may have noticed your stress levels increasing. As a result of reflecting on your week, you would be able to find the cause of this problem, such as not having a mid-week rest or spending too much time on your studies.
7. Move your body
Moving your body in the morning is beneficial for you because it will allow you to release the tensions in your body.
8. Go outside for a walk
There are many benefits to having a morning walk, such as living in the present moment, appreciating nature, and releasing all of your negative energies. Your morning walks don’t have to be over 30 minutes, it can be an easy 5-minute walk around your block.
9. Eat a well-balanced breakfast
Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. This is not because of myths as Healthline talk about, but rather that it will help you to stick to your positive habits.
Yoga is a great new habit to add to your new morning routine. This is due to the benefits of participating in yoga, such as decreasing your anxiety and stress levels. As I had said earlier, your morning routine should comprise of habits that will increase your vibrational state; in order to manifest and move further towards your dream life.
I hope this post has helped you to create a peaceful morning routine. Having a morning routine will allow you to start your day in a high vibrational state of mind.
As I had said before, the Free 5 Day Mindset Email Course includes a habit exercise that will allow you to both create and be consistent with your new routine. You can learn more about the Mindset Email Course here.
